There is so much more I want to tell you, C.D. But you must take it one step at a time. Most of all, I want you to know that you're doing just fine, and that I utterly trust that your path of growth and searching will lead to strength and happiness. You say that "faith and doubt cannot exist in one." I'm not so sure about that. If doubt means asking questions, then doubt is absolutely a part of the experiment of faith. An experiment -- that's how faith is defined in the Book of Mormon, in Alma 32 (which you should read right away, young Skywalker).
Sometimes I even think about faith as a wager I make with my life every day. Every morning, I wake up and say, hello world, hello blue skies, and I bet my life on the idea that God and the good things I've experienced in Mormonism are real. I bet my life just like you'd put a little wagering chip on a roulette wheel -- not that, well, um, I've spent a lot of time at the roulette wheel -- and then I let the universe spin. If it turns out I was wrong, I'll have absolutely no regrets.
And I believe you'll be able to say the same someday.
And now, as for you, dear readers, what words of encouragement do you have for C.D., our young Mormon convert future-Jedi in training?
