Abortion in Retreat

Finally—and crucially—the abortion industry simply can't avoid the reality of its own brutality. The Internet lit up last week at the macabre story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, but his tale of butchery was only slightly more lurid than the butchery that happens in the womb during every single abortion. Abortion is the dismemberment of a human baby. Here at Patheos, Elizabeth Scalia (along with countless others at other web portals) has done invaluable work not only detailing the Gosnell story but also describing the actual horror of legal abortion.

A little more than four years ago, I sat in a theater wiping tears from my eyes as I watched Amazing Grace, the story of William Wilberforce's heroic and steadfast struggle against the slave trade. When I look into the crowd of the students at the SFLA conference, I can't help but think that there may be a Wilberforce out there, and while history may not be "on their side," it is moving in their direction.
