Interview – Why Megan and Grace Phelps left Westboro Baptist Church

The following is an interview CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi did with Megan and Grace Phelps-Roper and David Abitbol. If you have followed this story at all, I would encourage you to listen to this interview. I found it very moving at times as you can hear the heart of Megan and Grace come through as they speak.

Doctrine matters. What we say online matters. Megan started questioning the doctrines of Westboro Baptist from a conversation on Twitter. Let this be a reminder to all of us when we are talking to others online, there is a human behind that twitter handle or that screen name. And lastly, let’s keep praying for Megan and Grace that by God’s grace they will come to know the God of the Bible.

Good for them. Even though I do like the fighting spirit of the WBC and that most of society is gone spiritually, especially the Jews.

The WBC has got a bit too almost “cultic”. They need to chill out a bit. These family members are free in Christ and no church can stop that.
Maybe some research into cults will help them get their way through this but they need to stick to their guns and know we are all fighting for them.
Family is not the Church, families are part of the Church. You didn’t leave Christ you just left an overly zealous Church that happens to be your family.

They left a zealous ‘cult’…they did not preach or uphold sound Biblical doctrine or the Gospel I believe.

lol-sad…2 falsitys in a pod. Westboro babptist ‘church; known for not the Gospel but the cult like antics of picketing homosexual funerals with ‘God Hate Fags’ signs are now neighboors to a house painted colors of the rainbow, as a sign to demonstrate lie that being pro supporter of homosexuality (despite what God says) is some how noble. Seems like hell neighboors to me, unless both repent! p.s. the rainbow was given as a promise by… “In the Genesis account, a rainbow appears right after the great worldwide flood brought in order to remove sinful and evil-minded man from the earth. It symbolized God’s mercy and the covenant He made with Noah (representing mankind) not to destroy the world in such a way again:

“And God said: ‘This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

“‘I set My RAINBOW in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the RAINBOW shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The RAINBOW shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.’ ” (Genesis 9:12-16, NKJV throughout)” Glory TO God:)

Remember God hates sin & calling what He says is sin is not is evil, yet God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life! Glory to GOD!!!!!!!
