Carl McColman, a Catholic author and speaker from the USA, will present a weekend programme on Contemplative Spirituality and the Power of Prayer, September 27-28, 2014. Carl is a Lay Cistercian: a layperson under the spiritual guidance of the Trappist monks of Holy Spirit Abbey in Atlanta, Georgia. Drawing on his experience learning from the monks, along with the wisdom of great saints and mystics like Beatrice of Nazareth, Bernard of Clairvaux, and Thomas Merton, Carl will explain why the silence and serenity of monasteries can be a source for spiritual wisdom and insight even for those of us who will never live in one. Carl is an enthusiastic and down-to-earth speaker who loves to help people grow in their unique journey toward the love of God.
This event will take place at St Brigid’s Parish Resource Centre, Killester, Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday, September 27 (11 AM to 5 PM) and Sunday, September 28 (11:30 AM to 4 PM). The cost is €30.00. For more information or to register, please contact Karol Stout at St Brigid’s Parish Resource Centre Killester Dublin — 01 853 4030 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
