Pope accepts resignation of Bishop Gassis of El Obeid, Sudan

Vatican City, Oct 29, 2013 / 02:07 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Pope Francis on Monday accepted the resignation of Bishop Macram Max Gassis of El Obeid, in Sudan, upon having reached the age limit of 75. Bishop Gassis was succeeded Oct. 28 by his coadjutor, Bishop Michael Didi Adgum Mangoria, 54, who has served as apostolic administrator of the diocese since August, 2010.
