Even More rest

Even More rest November 6, 2008

The response to the group writing project has been encouraging. And we all need some help with understanding and practicing rest as God intended.

Kay Martin, at the motivational blog, “Thrive Christian,” said that her main problem was “unbelief. “

Until I faced that I believed in my problems more than I believed in the power of God, I had no rest….’Is God able?’ If I believe He is able, in all things, I am in His rest.” read the whole post here.

Lynn at Heading Home stresses that the best rest and richest blessing comes right after the hardest circusmtance. She says, “Where can the most beautiful vistas be viewed? From atop the summit of the tallest mountain, after the most strenuous climb.” Read, the “Cocoon of Circumstance” here.

Cathie at God’s Will be done, who started this whole conversation, is now in her third week of Sabbath observance. She is amazed at the peace. “I enjoyed a day of not rushing around to do things or get things done. I am finding myself having more time to do things.” Read her post here.

And my friend Marcus of Good Word Editing, just got off a month of Sabbath from social media. We can hardly wait to hear how his journey came out. Read his pledge here.

Inside Work has a fascinating downloadable study on the subject of “work” and “rest” and how the two correlate. This is a real gem.

Other reflections are found here, here, and here.

It’s not too late to speak up, speak out on what Sabbath rest means to you.
