One A Day

One A Day September 9, 2008

Unless you’re a hermit, you’ll interact with a number of people through the course of any given day. Meeting these people can be chalked up to chance — or you can see them as divine appointments. Is it possible that each interaction is an opportunity to display the grace and love of God in a demonstrable way — through word, or deed or both?

You could go hard core — “Hey friend, have you heard the Good News?”

We don’t recommend you start there, rather we suggest a more effective and disciplined approach. Just like the vitamins they advertised on television years ago, we recommend you try ‘one a day.’ Try to proactively prepare to have one interaction a day where you consciously display God’s grace. A measured word. A smile. A compliment. In this sin-obsessed world, a visual and verbal approach will shine through.
Our friend over at Every Square Inch asked the question, “Why Don’t we share?” He gives some possiblities for our inability to share — we are afraid that workplace interactions could cause problems (hyper sensitivity to a PC world) or there are more pressing issues. But the real issue is that we don’t “love our neighbor” enough to share the good news.
So, try the RLB One-A-Day approach. You can’t save the world, but can impact a single person each and every day. It can have an impact – both on you and the people you touch.

Please, share with a friend if you feel moved.
