Avatar Director Sinks to a New Low UPDATED

No, it’s not Avatar 2. James Cameron is diving all the way down to floor of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. The journey is 7 miles down and hasn’t been attempted since 1960. Cameron commissioned a specially-designed sub, Deepsea Challenger, to make the journey and return with 3D footage, but the potential for being squashed like a bug under the intense pressure is fairly high.
