Lenten Reflection #19: Jesus Relaxes

Lenten Reflection #19: Jesus Relaxes is a Lenten reflection on the way in which Jesus relaxes.

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, HCSB)

I am quite sure there were times when Jesus relaxed from His ministry on Earth. He would go to Bethany to visit with His close friends (Mary, Martha, and Lazarus) as a place to rest. There were times when He would relax by getting on a boat to “chill” with His disciples. Jesus took time to relax. So He knows everything about what it means to have rest. He knows how to rest Himself. So, He is the best person to help me relax.

Jesus relaxes my soul. Jesus is in the business of helping me relax. He teaches me to:

Relax in His work, not mine.

Relax in His suffering, not mine.

Relax in His knowledge, not mine.

Relax in His wisdom, not mine.

Whether you want to “chill” with Jesus, or let Him relax your soul, He is ready for you to come to Him and bring everything that bothers you to Him. He’ll help you relax your soul.
