I’m in the process of transcribing and editing a conversation I had with priestess, writer, counselor, mama, activist, and also my very good friend Sierra Black about Paganism, consent culture, and raising children.

Here’s a little nugget of wisdom from Sierra, that’s in my transcript:

“Having other parents in my community who are really committed to consent and really teaching that value to their children is really powerful for me in helping me continue to do that. Being in community helps me be more whole in making change in the world.”

The interview will be part of the forthcoming anthology Pagan Consent Culture: Building Communities of Empathy and Autonomy, edited by Christine Hoff Kraemer and Yvonne Aburrow. I’m grateful to Christine for reaching out to me and Sierra to make sure a conversation about children is part of this work.
