A Survey of Public Understanding of Evolution

There is an online survey of how (and how well) people understand the scientific theory of evolution. It is probably worth contributing to, although the possible answers are constricting in places. The only type of God that is asked about is that of classical theism, and so they will inevitably have significant numbers who end up rated as very religious and yet unsure whether such a deity exists.

That’s exactly how I answered–highly religious but unsure about God–before reading your blog.We should come up with a survey to see how well people understand God, send it to them, and then rate their understanding, pointing them to resources with different ideas about God. (halfway joking)

I wish I had the time to make such a survey (we could probably just take the one they made and substitute “God” in the appropriate places). I’d do it (halfway jokingly, of course!)
