Ken Olson’s Review of The Jesus Legend

Ken Olson has written an insightful review of Eddy and Boyd’s The Jesus Legend. It touches on a number of issues that I’m currently working on, such as oral tradition and historical reliability. I highly recommend it!

I agree; it’s a very interesting review. All good things proceed from Duke. Well, many good things, at least.

    Thanks. This was very good.Ó

My problem with this book is it is full of special pleading and ad hoc’s, not to mention double standards. Bob Price has actually written a response to Eddy and Boyd. While I don’t agree with all of his conclusions, its a good response.Read it here: The Jesus Mirage

From Price’s send-up, a line I wish I had written: “Heilsgeschichte has turned into Bullgeschichte.”

Funny I was thinking the same thing! Bob has a great way with words.

Additionally, James, I wouldn’t be recommending any book until you’ve read the opposing perspective! (Didn’t you just post up a blog with a video criticizing people for commenting on things with opinion when it is not informed opinion?) 😉
