2013 Conference on Mandaeism

I’d been waiting for an update on a conference which had initially been proposed to be held this summer. Here’s the updated information from the ARAM Society web site:

Hmm, I think there is something wrong with the dates here… Perhaps it should be Wednesday April 18, 2012 2:00 PM –
    Friday 20 April, 2012 10:00 PM.

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I am guessing they recycled the announcement and changed the year but not the days, at least not correctly. I will see if I can find out more…

  • Presumably they meant Wednesday the 24th or Thursday the 25th.

I think it is the wrong year. It is supposed to be 2012.

  • It is hard to say. Something is wrong, but it isn’t entirely clear what. The conference was previously announced as scheduled for 2012, but this would not be the first time that ARAM postponed a conference on the Mandaeans.

I just hope that, whenever they decide to have it, they clarify things so that those of us who really hope to attend may do so!
