    Ironically, though, the cartoon makes the exact opposite point that it’s trying to make.

    As anyone who is familiar with the history of orthography even in the slightest degree could tell you, if evolution vs. ID or Creationism is reduced to the level of spelling choices, then the debate is nothing more than the arbitrary preferences of one social group over the arbitrary preferences of another social group with neither having any real claim to one being “more true” or “more accurate” than the other.
