The Blog of Dr. James F. McGrath, Clarence L. Goodwin Chair in New Testament Language and Literature at Butler University, Indianapolis

In my New Testament class when we were talking about ancient vs. modern viewpoints, my professor had a lot of fun with this. We talked about how crazy it would be for an ancient person to be pulled into the future and expected to believe that there are microscopic things they couldn’t see making them sick.
There need be no controversy between the theories. One could believe that demons design the germs.
Ah yes, the “Malevolent Design” theory, a unique twist on Creationism.
