Ash Wednesday

Tonight was the first time I’ve experienced Ash Wednesday celebrated at a Baptist church. My own church, Crooked Creek Baptist Church, was the host to an interfaith Ash Wednesday service, a multi-congregation and multi-denomination celebration, featuring our own Rev. Tom Bartley as well as Rev. L. Bryant Parker of Witherspoon Presbyterian, Rev. Kevin Bausman of Immanuel Presbyterian, and Pastors Ryan Algrim and Shannon Dycus from the First Mennonite Church, among others. Musicians and other members of these congregations shared parts of the service and joined us for worship. It was a really wonderful experience!

Any advice for people in other (Protestant) congregations who may wish to follow suit?

Sorry for the delay in replying. What sort of advice do you need? If you want a pastor’s perspective, I am sure my pastor would be happy to offer his perspective on the process of organizing the event.
