I Am Altering the Deal

I adapted the already-existing cartoon that had been circulating, and changed Mickey’s words to those which Darth Vader spoke to Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back, in light of some of the changes Disney has been making to existing Star Wars programs and plans.

    Beats me why anyone would care about this stuff. What really matters is new stories worth watching, not that they conform perfectly to the previous tired (the new ones), dated (the old ones) films.

    Star wars is cool, but ultimately Disney is concerned about 1 thing: the entertainment economy. They will choose to do what they believe will produce the most revenue. Have you ever invested in a mutual fund or been a stockholder?
    Having said that, I wonder whether the Star Trek franchise can give us any hints about why Disney is making their choices they way they are.

      (I know I’m probably being unnecessarily pedantic.) Firms really aim to maximise profit, not necessarily revenue 😛 … Profit = Revenue – Cost

        I can chime on on that one of course. Sure, one hopes that one relates to the other and there is the issue of market share, Maximization of Profit drives the share Price in a publicly Held company of course. Come to think of it, I have no idea how Disney is structured. One of those factoids to know…
