The title immediately sets my intellectual antibodies circulating, since the word “myth” is associated with so much bad debunking, at least as much in Hist of Sci as in anything ekse; so, when “myth” is used in a sensible way, it’s already a relief. More than that, Professor Heilbron gives us a novel view, and I think a right one, of the way such mythologies work in a historical field — novel at least to me, with a lot more science than historiography in my knowledge of history of science.
I wonder if they mean to put up other presentations from that conference.
