I have the distinct impression that the precise connotations of these terms varies from region to region.

Which makes me a language dork, I gather.

What are the connotations of “nerd,” “geek,” and “dork” in parts of the world that you are familiar with?

    I always viewed a Nerd as being someone who is smart, educated, and dresses really clean. I always thought of a Geek as someone who is really into video games and comic books. And I always thought of a dork as someone who is kind of clumsy and not as weird. I guess you could say that all three overlap each other in different ways.
