Brooklyn’s Mt. Pitsgah Baptist Church Senior Pastor Says the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard Ignite the Light of Knowledge October 20, 2016

The Scientology Religion website, published two weeks ago, continues to update content daily, with blog posts and new videos from religious scholars, interfaith leaders and those who partner with the Church in its humanitarian activities.

One recent entry is an excerpt from the speech of Rev. Johnny Ray Youngblood, Senior Pastor of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church delivered at the grand opening of the new Church of Scientology and Community Center of Harlem, New York.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Rev. Youngblood graduated with a B.A. from Dillard University, New Orleans, earned his  Masters of Divinity at Colgate Rochester Divinity School; his Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio where he was a Samuel Dewitt Proctor Fellow. He has received Honorary Doctorates from Dillard University; Boston University and Virginia Seminary (Lynchburg, VA).

In describing his own personal experiences with the help that the Church of Scientology offers, Reverend Youngblood praised he teachings of L. Ron Hubbard as igniting the light of knowledge. He welcomed the new Church of Scientology of Harlem “as a beacon of light in the turbulent seas of our times,” adding, “May it be a mighty lighthouse for the people of Harlem and the people of every borough of our beloved city.”
