Pray the Rosary

Pray the Rosary August 15, 2012

The Rosary has been a critical part of Roman Catholic devotional life since Medieval times, but most outside of the Roman Catholic church haven’t taken up the Rosary as a regular practice.  This is a mistake because the Rosary not only offers a profound form of prayer that engages the mind, soul and body at once, but it also provides a regular means through which to meditate on the life of Christ within the full context of his earthly and heavenly parentage.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Mary.  In honor of this feast, pray the Rosary meditating on the “Glorious Mysteries” that end with Mary crowned as the Queen of Heaven.  If you don’t know how to pray the Rosary, use this simple guide: How to Recite the Holy Rosary.

How does this strange prayer/meditation feel?  Does praying the Rosary draw you deeper into the full reality of Jesus, the Son of Mary?
