I really slept late this morning. By late, I mean well past 12:00–noon. I was up well past 2:00am finishing two more chapters in my second  book, SURVIVING RECURRENCE. (Many 2s and wells there. Synchronicity?) Once I am “in the zone” it’s difficult to break my concentration and stop typing.   “Leave the rest for tomorrow,” is not in my vocabulary. By mid-chapter, I am driven. Forget food and water, I’m content in my self-inflicted jail cell. This driven feeling... Read more

Remember when we did not have the luxury of automatic washing machines that spun clothes dry, clothes driers that removed wrinkles to decrease ironing and dishwashers that dried dishes spotless and had garbage disposals in them so that rinsing was unnecessary? For that matter, remember when Mom was the dishwasher and you were the spotless drier?   Our winterized home on Cape Cod had been reopened before our arrival by the same plumber who had drained it. We had been... Read more

Part 1 of the BLOG from the radio show: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thebodymindandspiritnetwork/2012/09/05/beyond-the-5-senses Tarot cards were originally used to play a card game that was very similar to bridge. As with the Tarot cards today, 21 of the special cards served as permanent trumps. These could be played regardless of what suit was led, and outranked all the ordinary cards just as the Trump cards of the Major Arcana do today. The game became known as the Game of Triumphs and was popular... Read more

(Written for Ladies Going Green Online Magazine)   “An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.” This famous quote by Benjamin Franklin is the answer for just about anything. But, what is the key to prevention? A healthy body dispels disease. We are spirit inhabiting body. How we feed our spirit is half the prevention. What we feed our body is the other half.   Most Supermarket foods have been altered. Prepared foods contain refined sugar, salt and... Read more

http://everydayconnection.me/2011/12/22/reflections-kathleen-okeefe-kanavos/ Reflections – Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos Posted on 22 December 2011 by Rick O’Shields Sometimes life throws a challenge your way that literally stops you in your tracks and forces you to re-evaluate your sense of self and your purpose; sometimes the challenge ends up being the best thing that has ever happened to you. What if that challenge happens to be cancer and what if the cancer you fought so hard to beat snuck back up on you and ravished... Read more

Illness and depression go together like peanut and butter. During my severe bouts of depression during cancer treatment I had a choice. I could take pills to alleviate it, or I could face it and figure out what my body and psych were telling me. I always believed that depression was a symptom, not an illness. Alleviating the symptom would not cure the disorder. I saw my depression as something that would diminish if I faced and cured the cause.... Read more

Only a New Seed Will Yield a New Crop.” That was the repeated motto for GATE II, 02/04/12. The star-studded event had one goal in mind; planting thoughts of enlightenment in the global mind of entertainment that will grow a new crop of media messages focused on the Hero’s Journey rather than the victim’s downfall. Focus is the key to change. Much of our world, news, self-image and values are shaped in large part on the messages we receive from... Read more
