Quickie: Waiting Here for You

Let the mountains move

We come with expectation
Waiting here for you

Every morning I wake up to Christy Nockles signing about the hopeful expectation that is rooted in waiting for God. I could have chimes or bells rouse me from my slumber but hearing “Waiting Here for You” helps me focus on what lies ahead.

This morning, two things reminded me of embracing a posture in which we wait on God. The first was a message from a friend sharing that she feels a sense of anticipation as she reads the words I offer in this space (Hi Cheryl *waves*) . The second was my daily bible verse –
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

A number of things have me reflecting on the past and while I honor and appreciate moments gone by, I cannot tell you how much I look forward to what God has the potential to do. That expectation that something is coming is what shapes my present and makes me want to share what’s going on because I know God is going to continue to show up and show out.
