Some argue that the Apostles continued in obedience to Jewish law and ritual even after their conversion. But we learn here that once Peter knew freedom, he began to live like the Gentiles, abandoning Jewish obligations:
“But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, ‘If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?” (Paul, Galatians 2:14)
Peter (Cephas) was actually chastised by Paul for imposing Jewish law on Gentiles when he himself was already living free from law.
