
3. Be affectionate with her–without expecting sex in return.
I know this can be very difficult for men because sex is at the forefront of their brains, but it is a must. Some women are more affectionate than others, but some non-sexual affection needs to happen BEFORE sex. Women generally aren’t “hot and ready” like Little Caesar’s pizzas or even “hot now” like Kryspy Kreme donuts; we are more like sit-down dining establishments–we require a little more time.
When a husband rubs his wife’s feet, holds her hand, massages her shoulders, etc., it helps to ease any tension she is feeling. And, it’s also a nice, romantic gesture. It might even give you both a chance to connect more through a conversation that naturally ensues, and it will certainly show your wife that you love and adore her. Even though it may lead to the bedroom, it’s important that the husband does this without rushing through it or putting pressure on his wife to get to the bedroom. This is a time to slow down, look into each other’s eyes, and connect.
