4. One spouse is fulfilling his/her need with individual porn use.
This is something that the study didn’t consider, but porn is a HUGE problem that is affecting many married American couples today. In fact, the porn industry makes more money than ALL of the major television networks COMBINED. And, porn is more accessible than ever before due to the internet. When a spouse chooses to fulfill his/her sexual desires through porn, there is little to no sexual desire left for his/her spouse. And, his/her spouse is left unfulfilled and wondering why he/she didn’t want to have sex. It’s a destructive cycle that negatively affects a couple on a physical, mental, and emotional level.

So, what if you or your spouse feel like porn is no big deal? I would encourage you to think about how God designed marriage, and how a husband and wife are supposed to be the ONLY ones to fulfill the sexual needs of the other. Porn cheats you both out of having the amazing marriage that God wants you to have.
