3. Pro Guns stance. This article is not intended to re-ignite the gun control debate. The truth is that the guns are designed and meant for only one thing- to kill. Sure, more often than not, they are used for hunting and are not meant to kill humans.
Be it mass shooting in Las Vegas or Sandy hook, mass murders continue to hit the headlines. Even though USA makes up only 5% of the world population, we account for 31% of the public mass shootings in the world. [6]
I simply want to highlight the fact that even though both Democrats and Republicans have failed to pass meaningful gun control laws, Republicans are staunch supporters of the right to carry the gun. On one hand, they carry anti-abortion views, citing the right to protect life (which by the way I support). On the other hand, they don’t seem to agree that the guns can, and have killed innocent people.
I understand that supporting right to carry guns does not mean they ‘support murders” but the good intentions are not helping protect the innocent lives. But supporting gun rights has indirectly resulted in more mass murders.
