Curiosity and knowledge: Keys to the Sagittarius Full Moon, June 2014 June 12, 2014

Full Moon June 2014The Sagittarius Full Moon takes place just after midnight on June 13th Eastern time.  The Moon in Sagittarius encourages us to expand our visions – to aim higher and gain greater understanding.  In Sagittarius we refuse to take no for an answer – suddenly we know that we can do and be more than we ever thought possible before. Like all Full Moons, the Sagittarius Moon will be exactly opposite the Sun in Gemini.   Gemini wants to embrace the entire world – Sagittarius chooses instead to learn and grow more deeply in knowledge.  In this Full Moon we seek to balance our curiosity and tendency to take the superficial road (Gemini) with the lunar desire to seek the greater truth.  Gemini’s ruler is Mercury, and Mercury is retrograde now.  Gemini has the tendency to take in too much data and become distracted, and the retrograde Mercury encourages this tendency which can make the expansion and focus process more difficult.  Balance and equilibrium between these two opposing forces is the key. Venus is active now, harmonizing with Chiron to facilitate healing and wisdom in our relationships, and opposing Saturn to emphasize our obligations and responsibilities to the people around us.  The Sagittarius Full Moon seeks expansion and the freedom to pursue our dreams, and under  this combination of influences we may feel that our duties to others (Venus/Saturn) interfere with our soul’s need to be free to seek experiences that teach us (Gemini/Sagittarius). Mars challenges Pluto right now, potentially inflaming situations but also adding creative fire to everything we do.  A harmonious trine from Saturn to Chiron will help to soften the hard edges, healing the sore spots so that we don’t become stuck in the darkness.  Full Moons illuminate the darkness – now is the time to let your ideals shine through!
