“Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time?”
That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past nor the shadow of the future.”
― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
The mind lives in the realm of time – looking back into the past with regret or nostalgia; looking forward to the future with anxiety or anticipation. The soul lives in a realm that is free from time or judgment of any kind. The stillness of being completely present with all that is offers a bliss and joy that goes beyond that which any worldly event can bestow.
The cold of winter offers an opportunity to slow down and witness the magic of stillness. As the mind and the heart become one, the soul sings with the joy of awakening and connection with the timeless Source itself.
