Kelly Lee Phipps is a brilliant astrologer who was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer this year. He posted this poem on his Facebook page.
SATORI
Two circles unite
sun and moon move together
eternity flows
One heart opens wide
living waters surged inward
tears crawling from our stories
This sacred flow aspires
to express the divine through
a fountain of radiant wisdom
As rain falls on the cracked ground
fertilizing being in the
depths of pure, fiery satori
As in the heavens, so in each of us,
we ascend fully into the moment
returning to visionary wholeness
Yet we resist the inward current
carrying the secrets of the mountains
to the sea
We are afraid of the awakening voice
calling from heaven within
as we stand firm against
the dancing flame in our hearts
asking where is passion?
what is purposeful?
why should action be actionless?
In the modern cultures we look back to ancient indigenous cultures for wisdom and enlightenment. In our struggle to preserve and perfect our lives we have forgotten how to truly live.
Kelly Lee (2/5/1971) was diagnosed as his progressed Sun (Self) made an exact opposition to Pluto, the planet of transformation. He is also in the middle of his Uranus opposition: a time when Uranus in the sky is exactly opposite Uranus in the birthchart. Uranus experiences that shock us into awakening into a new reality, and the Uranus opposition at age 41-42, the return at age 84 and the squares at 21 and 61-62 are all very significant times of change.
Kelly Lee’s Sun is in Aquarius, ruled by Uranus, and his Sun is in a harmonious trine to Uranus. Uranus is the Lord of Astrology – astrology is itself governed by the Uranian influence of radical departure from established thought and rules. Kelly Lee is a progressive thinker and has been instrumental in expanding the boundaries of modern astrological thought.
