(You can read my review of the original Zeitgeist movie here.)  The Addendum to the incredible Zeitgeist film was released on the internet a few days ago and is another incredibly powerful and eye-opening alert to the change in our society and monetary policy (both ruled by Capricorn) that we are experiencing at the moment. Most of us, particularly Americans, shy away from thinking very deeply about the way our world is governed.  We feel a certain amount of helplessness... Read more

David Duchovny of X-files fame was released today from the rehab clinic in which he was being treated for sexual addiction.  Duchovny has been trailed throughout his career by rumors of infidelity and affairs, and this continued throughout his marriage to Tea Leoni.  It is widely reported that an ultimatum from Leoni drove Duchovny to seek treatment.  In an odd example of life imitating art, Duchovny has been starring in Showtime’s “Californication” in which he plays a character who is... Read more

photo from Nature’s Wallpaper. (I bumped this back to the top for a bit of Sunday inspiration.) Whether we are experiencing a difficult time in our own lives or watching the world change before our very eyes, it is easy to slip into a fear of the unknown – a fear of having little control over our future.  It’s often said that the opposite of fear is love; I also believe that the opposite of fear is faith. One of... Read more

Art by Jacquelyn Gordon. Mars entered Scorpio yesterday, and will be traveling through the sign that carries us into the Underworld through November 16.  Mars is the ancient ruler of Scorpio – it helps to define the fiery emotional depths to which we descend when we are influenced by this magical sign.  The modern ruler of Scorpio is Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld.  Scorpio rules the time of Halloween – the ancient Samhain festival and the various Days of the... Read more

Let’s not even speculate yet on what will happen with the economic “rescue” (bailout) plan being signed in a RE-versal by the US House of Representatives when Mercury is retrograde (the stock markets fell anyway).  Instead, let’s turn our intention to the bailout purchase of Wachovia and the battle over its takeover.  Remember Mercury retrograde periods can bring communication glitches, failing equipment, and sometimes the need to do things over, and over, and over, and over. It was only Monday... Read more

Skywatch is up on my website, and here is a snippet to cover the first week: As October begins we are still in a shortage of the fire element and Mercury is retrograde, two factors that can make it difficult to accomplish anything.  Mercury will remain retrograde until October 15, and this is a great time for planning and re-evaluating plans and goals, but it’s not the best time to implement them.  (Just tell the US Congress which is back... Read more

A few weeks ago my daily newspaper (Sagittarius rules publishing and the media in general along with religion) contained a DVD called The Obsession, an “expose” of Islamic Sharia law.  Evidently the film was made in 2005 and was distributed to 28 million homes. Aziz Poonawalla, my new blogging brother here on BeliefNet, reported yesterday that a mosque in Dayton, Ohio was teargassed and suggests that the spread of fear through this DVD was directly responsible. Several bloggers are researching... Read more

All but John McCain’s most ardent supporters are talking about McCain’s recent erratic and bizarre behavior that threatens his run for President.  In a campaign that has been more about emotional reactions than a clear look at issues, it doesn’t take much to throw a campaign off balance.  Republicans did not care for McCain to start with, then with his selection of Sarah Palin he became a star.  Now that the bloom is off Palin’s rose after her only interviews reveal... Read more

New Moons are exciting times of renewal and new beginnings, and the Moon was new in Libra at 4 am EDT today.  Each month we are initiated into the mysteries of the signs in zodiacal order, and following the Virgo mystery that was illuminated by the New Moon eclipse on August 30, we find ourselves being opened to the Libran quest for beauty, harmony, and a balance in our relationships with others. Relationships are highlighted now, and with Venus, ruler... Read more
