The Full Moon in Taurus is a blessing from the Earth.  Taurus is the earthiest of all of the earth signs – it is a fixed sign so it encourages stability and perseverance, but is also stubborn and unyielding.  As an earth sign, Taurus is concerned with practical matters and physical comfort.  Sensual experiences of food and touch are important for Taurus, and for all of us under the Taurus Full Moon. When the Moon is full in Taurus, the... Read more

Mars is the planet of aggression and warfare, and it is currently traveling through Sagittarius, the sign of ideology, theology, belief systems, confidence, and all things expansive.  So it’s no wonder that the political rhetoric in the US is inflating to ridiculous proportions. Over the past week this inflation has grown even more ridiculous over the past week since Mars has been approaching an opposition (180 degree aspect) to Jupiter.  This aspect culminates on the 28th (Sunday) and is embedded... Read more

A portion of this article was posted in 2011.  (click image to enlarge) The Mayan calendar is usually said to end on December 21, 2012, but that date seems to have little relevance to the actual Mayan calendar, although it has come to bear great mythological significance for the current age.  According to that great source of modern wisdom Wikipedia: In 1975, the ending of b’ak’tun 13 became the subject of speculation by several New Age authors, who asserted it would correspond... Read more

Lance Armstrong was an incredible success story.  He was the second American ever to win the Tour de France bicycle race.  His first win was July 25, 1999 just three years after he recovered from testicular cancer which had spread to his lungs, abdomen and brain.  He won again the following year, and then again for each consecutive year until he retired in 2005. A Virgo, Armstrong (born 9/18/1971, time unknown, Plano Texas) has four planets in that sign including... Read more

An Autumn Leaf Yesterday, I was the mist of the waterfall Tomorrow I will be a raindrop Racing toward my destiny But today I am the cloud Floating amidst the mountain peaks The hangman’s noose is empty For I am life I cannot be destroyed The winds of adversity Buffet and mould me Yet I float free I am freedom The bird that flits happily Among olive trees I am the wind of the evergreen glades I am boundless Without... Read more

Our friends Steven Forrest and Jeff Jawer along with Noel Tyl have been teaching workshops in China as part of an effort to bring western astrology to that country which has its own brand of astrology that is over 5,000 years old. I discovered this from this People’s Daily article giving the workshops some good press.  However, it does illustrate some confusion over the type of astrology practiced by western astrologers such as Steven and Jeff and this:  PeiEn is a full-time astrologer who is also familiar with the teachings of Forrest, havingheard him lecture when he came to China in 2010. Most of her clients come to her after finding out about her online or through word-of-mouth feedback from satisfied customers. Their needs include requiring a reading ofthe future, finding out more about themselves or seeking help to overcome personalanguish. Pei then reads their future using an astrolabe, the predecessor of the sextant used to find the altitude of stars, and offers her advice. Astrolabes... Read more

“Austrian daredevil” Felix Baumgartner fell to earth on Sunday from a capsule lifted by a helium balloon above New Mexico, traveling over 24 miles in four minutes, at times faster than the speed of sound.  From the New York Times article: He broke altitude and speed records set half a century ago by Joe Kittinger, now 84, a retired Air Force colonel whose reassuring voice from mission control guided Mr. Baumgartner through tense moments. Engineers considered aborting the mission when... Read more

Thanks to Jamie Darkstar for compiling a comprehensive collection of astrological predictions concerning the US presidential election in this great article.  Proving that astrology is not an exact science AND that it cannot easily be used to predict the future, astrologers not only have a wide variety of opinions about how planetary cycles will affect the election, they have also used a wide variety of tools to make these determinations. More astrologers predict an Obama win, regardless of their personal... Read more

by Lynn Hayes Mitt Romney is widely recognized as a flip-flopper, but with three planets in Pisces (plus Ceres) it’s his nature to be adaptable. Pisces is the most watery of the water planets: Cancer is an earthy water and Scorpio is a fiery water, but Pisces is pure water in the sense that it tends to take the shape of whatever container it finds itself in. Pisces longs for peace and an understanding that there is more to life... Read more

by Lynn Hayes Libra is the sign of relationships, including not only interpersonal relationships but the balance between one thing or idea and another. Libra strives for harmony and equilibrium, and this New Moon offers an abundance of sparkling wisdom to help us regain our balance and find innovative ways to take our lives in a different direction if that is required. The planet Mars is somewhat antithetical to Libra – it governs the aggressive force that inspires us to... Read more
