Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)
A few days ago, I offered advice for thanking God when you don’t feel thankful. My post was inspired by a great list that I ran across on the Internet. After reading the list, I was extremely thankful for my many blessings!
I bet you never thought to thank God for some of these things…
Utilities
If you have running water in your home, thank God.
If that water is clean (hasn’t made you sick or killed you), thank God.
If you can take a hot shower whenever you want, thank God.
If you have indoor plumbing, thank God.
Thank God for electricity.
If you breath fresh air, thank God.
If you can heat your home in the winter and cool it in the summer, thank God.
If people regularly come to your house and take away your trash, thank God.
If people bring your mail six days a week, thank God.
Relationships
If you’ve ever enjoyed laughing with a friend, thank God.
If you’ve ever had someone hold you while you cried, thank God.
If you’ve ever had a friend unexpectedly meet a need, thank God.
If you’ve ever had someone tell you they love you, thank God.
If you’ve ever gotten married, thank God.
If God has blessed you with children, thank God.
Thank God for every member of your family.
Thank God for every member of your extended family.
Thank God for strangers who have blessed you.
On this week’s episode of The Gary Zimak Show, I went though most of the 100 items on the original list. If you can spare 30 minutes, give it a listen below. It will be a real eye-opener!
