The Works of God Should be Manifest Through Her October 25, 2015

I am Bethany’s dad. She was born with significant special needs. She is dynamic, personable, and always outside herself. She always turns the conversation to you. “When is your birthday?” “Who is your teacher?” “Do you like Elsa?” “What are you going to dress up as for Halloween?” and so forth. The conversations she strikes, which are many, are always about the people around her. Bethany teaches beautiful lessons to those who watch closely. Unfortunately, some don’t watch. In fact, to some she is invisible. To some she is an irritant. Fortunately, to most she is a light on dark days and a dear friend. As Bethany’s father, I am so grateful to those who take the time to see her. She is not her special needs. She is a daughter of God and through her the works of God are made manifest (see John 9:3).

Read this article. I have been privileged to know two of the three exceptional people highlighted in the piece. They have blessed my life and given me great joy and hope as I father on. Please read.
