Dr. Scott Hahn is coming to New Oxford, PA!

Sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church BVM, New Oxford

When: Saturday, August 30,2014 from 10am to 4pm.

Location: New Oxford High School Auditorium, 130 Berlin Road, New Oxford, PA 17350

As an extension of my work and success here at The Catholic Book Blogger I decided last year to give back to my home parish, deanery and the Diocese of Harrisburg (and beyond). With the help of a number of my fellow parishioners an annual event has been started in New Oxford, PA. Last year Mike Aquilina joined us for a daylong retreat which was well received and a great day for all attendees. This year I am pleased to have as our retreat leader, Dr. Scott Hahn. If you are in the New Oxford, PA area on August 30,2014 please sign up to join us. My contact information and the details of the event are listed below. If you are coming from out of town, why not make a weekend of it and visit the historic Gettysburg Battlefield just 20 minutes west of New Oxford? You could even spend an extra day checking out the town of New Oxford itself, know as the antique capital of PA.

Dr. Scott Hahn is currently a Professor of Theology and Scripture at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he has taught since 1990, and is the founder and director of the Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology. In 2005, he was appointed as the Pope Benedict XVI Chair of Biblical Theology and Liturgical Proclamation at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

He is the author (or editor) of over forty books including The Lamb’s Supper, Reasons to Believe, and Rome Sweet Home (co-authored with his wife, Kimberly). Some of his newest books are Many Are Called, Hope for Hard Times, The Catholic Bible Dictionary, Signs of Life, Consuming the Word and most recently Evangelizing Catholics.

There is a $15 per person registration fee which includes lunch. Dr. Hahn’s books will be available for purchase throughout the day; cash, check and credit card accepted.

Register in advance by contacting Pete Socks via email at [email protected] or at (717) 634-4961 (please leave a message). Please indicate your choice of 8” sub (American Cold Cut, Turkey, or Italian). Lunch also includes chips, desert and drink.
