CBF Podcast: Brian McLaren on the Beauty & Harm of Being Baptist

CBF Podcast: Brian McLaren on the Beauty & Harm of Being Baptist March 6, 2018

By Andy Hale

These are difficult days. One look at the last couple of months’ worth of headlines and maybe we would all agree to this notion.

However, is there a new way forward? Will the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship be at the forefront of this new way?

We sat down with Brian McLaren to discuss.

McLaren reflected: I feel that the role of Baptists in doing harm to our nation and world is so great. Well-meaning and sincere people that are deeply committed to the term “Baptists” are often at the forefront of being careless about the environment, hateful towards Muslims, promoting white supremacy and harm being done to racial minorities.

Honest conversations are difficult. Navigating what’s next is a challenge.
