“Once you are real you can’t become unreal again. It lasts for always.”
Written in 1922 by Margery William and illustrated by William Nicholson, The Velveteen Rabbit (or How Toys Become Real) is yet another children’s classic. It has also been named one of the “Teachers’ Top 100 Books for Children.” The tale is about a stuffed toy rabbit and his wish to become real through the love of his owner, a little boy. With the help of a fairy, his dreams of becoming a real life rabbit eventually do come true.
