Texas Governor Greg Abbott is a man of principle and honor.  Recently, he made a plea to his fellow Americans who seem to be frustrated with what’s going on in Washington, DC.

“Like you, I’ve experienced my frustration with the federal government.  First as a state Supreme Court Justice, then as Attorney General of Texas, and now as Governor

“I’ve witnessed first hand Washington’s departure from Constitutional principles. For decades, the federal government has grown too big, too costly, and too intrusive into our lives.  Federal courts continue to overreach their authority.  Americans can no longer relay on Congress to fix what’s wrong in Washington.  Congress is part of the problem.

“But the founders knew if the three branches strayed, there was a fourth group to rein them in: We the People. That’s why they provided us with a remedy to use that provides the states the same exact power as Congress to propose amendments to the Constitution.  Our objective isn’t to hijack the Constitution.  Our objective is to protect the liberty that the Founders intended to secure in the Constitution.”
