The Leftist Juggernaut continues apace

The Church today walks a thin line by trying to be relevant and sensitive to the changes of the times, while needing to accept the fact that many of these changes are toxic not just to the Church and its freedoms, but to the common sense well being of humanity and humanity’s future.

So this story was found and commented on by the always brutally insightful John C. Wright.  As usual, not that I don’t believe Mr. Wright, but wanting to make sure it isn’t something cooked up somewhere on the Internet that a justifiably concerned person might miss, I looked for other sources to make sure the mind-numbingly and impossibly idiotic story wasn’t true.

And then came the Washington Post, and I realized to my horror that the story is true.  We’ve come to a point where censorship is the sacrament of the post-modern age.  I alone am worthy of worship and praise, the universe exists to hand me whatever I want, as often as I want, with anyone I want, and affirm any reality I want; there are no facts that dispute this and all who challenge me should be dismissed, their contributes exorcised from the public debate, all references to inconvenient facts immediately eradicated by whatever means possible.

Only the biggest generation of arrogant fools could so easily lay the groundwork for reeducation camps and policy state tyranny just so I can indulge in whatever sexual or physical pleasure or avoid having my precious feelings and self-affirmations challenged.  Then again, it isn’t surprising.  This is about the third generation where we’ve given everyone awards just because they’re swell, trophies even if they lost, and allowed them to retake tests until they passed.  A generation raised as such will understandably assume that the universe spins around the axis of me, and anything that suggests otherwise should be expunged.

Mr. Wright touches on the obvious problem with our modern witch hunts, where anyone from select groups can say anything is offensive or derogatory, demand it be eradicated, and eliminate any consideration of those in the past deemed unworthy next to our superior standards. Even Stalin’s purging of reality to fit his own demented visions for the world couldn’t’ have imagined the ease with which we would embrace the same mentality, but only to maintain the promise that the world only exists for my sole benefit.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Notice the complaint did not say the image itself was offensive or racist.  But someone played the history record backwards, discovered – shock! – that the person who designed the flag owned slaves, and based on that demanded the flag image be punished.  This is important.   The image itself has no connection to a racially offensive image.  It’s that the author of the image was declared guilty  therefore the image itself was deemed unacceptable by a government agency.  Anyone with a brain seeing the problem here?   This is touched upon by the WP piece in which the author also notes the very disturbing trend of individuals and groups trying to declare certain political expressions to be hate and therefore unacceptable.  Dumb generation.

“…it was done to tread on the serpent, and show the boast of Conservatives to be hollow, the First Amendment to be dead, and to prove the Left are free to spit on the dead.”  So sad, and yet so true.
