The 2016 Columbus Earthquake

The 2016 Columbus Earthquake

Happened on November 26.  When Curtis Samuel scored the winning touchdown against Michigan, apparently the roar of the 110,000 fans registered a 5.79 on the Richter Scale.  Now, as the article says, it’s more in fun, and not an apples-to-apples comparison to a real earthquake.  But you have to admit!  That’s why playing Ohio State Stadium brings new punch to the fabled 12th Man, which is so important for football.

All sports benefit from a home field advantage.  But football, with its combination fast analytical thinking, processing complex information on a dime, finesse, dexterity, skill, speed and brute strength, all surrounding near combat like tactical planning and communication, and that level of noise can make or break.  And no college fan base is more legendary for its devotion or ability to raise the roof than good old Buckeye Nation.

Well done Scarlet and Gray.  I’m sure Harbaugh will recover.
