Eternal rest

Eternal rest December 21, 2016

We don’t watch much television.  The boys like old reruns and sports.   Sometimes a good movie.  And of course I keep up with the news.  Otherwise, there are only a couple modern shows we like.  One is Chopped on the Food Network.  The other is Jeopardy.

We don’t always see them, but when we can, we’ll tune in.  So we were watching a delightful young lady impress us for the last several days.  Though I could tell she didn’t always seem to be at the top of her game.   Still, she did well, and we assume she might qualify for the Jeopardy tournament.  It didn’t happen.

The fact is, she was dying of cancer the whole time.  Only days before her episodes aired, she lost her fight and passed away.  After her last episode, Alex Trebek filmed a tribute explaining what happened.  I do believe that all humans would unite in fellowship to praise and cheer if cancer ceased to exist.  We hear that dreadful word too often.

God love her and her loved ones.  I’m  glad that she got to fulfill her dream to be on Jeopardy, and fulfill it so well.  Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
