On the other hand, we have this strange tirade, accompanied by lame explanation:

What did I just say about celebrity goofiness?  I have no clue who she is other than a former Apprentice contestant no given an office in the administration.  But even so, the statements she makes.  I thought of the Emperor on Star Wars.  This is America.  We’re not the thralls of the Supreme Leader.

The trick to dealing with stereotypes is not living up to them.  Same for partisan punditry.  If the hysteria is that Trump will turn us into some despotic police state where all who fail to obey are forced to bow before the most powerful man in the universe, then don’t agree.  Geesh.
