The press continues to stun me with its inability to look in the mirror. Apparently Trump has released a list of under-reported terrorist attacks.
I hadn’t heard about it until this morning when I was getting ready. I had CBS on this time. They were not happy. I mean, dare I say they were pissed. Indignant. They might as well have said ‘How dare him!’.
They always cover attacks, according to CBS, and they ran a series of clips of CBS covering some of the worse attacks of the last few years: San Bernardino and Orlando specifically focused on. And yet?
In no case did the coverage show them focusing on terror, terrorist attacks, Islamic terrorism, terrorism or anything. Don’t they get it? That’s what Trump is playing on. Heck, remember following Orlando how many jumped on Conservative Christians when it was all about homophobia?
That’s the point. The press can easily cover things without covering them. Or cover them in ways that don’t reflect how others see things. That’s what Trump is hitting, and the CBS rebuke (for that’s what it was), did nothing but confirm what Trump’s list was trying to say in the first place. Tons of coverage of events, but focusing on terrorism? Not so much.
Sometimes it’s like watching an ongoing spoof.
