Pope Francis ticks everyone off

So this time he upset the leaders of LGBT groups by pointing out that kids are being taught the rather subjective view that gender is up for grabs.  Since we can all agree that schools are where we mold future generations by indoctrinating young people into the desired moral framework, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.  Ideological colonization?  That’s nothing new.  Liberals have been telling the world its business for decades.  It’s a Western thing really, not just a liberal thing.  We don’t believe that morality is up for grabs, or that we personally oppose child sacrifice but feel free to practice it if you want.  We believe there are moral absolutes and it’s high damn time the world get with the program.

The funny thing about liberalism and its corresponding movements, including the LGBT movements, is that it once denounced the idea that we have a right to impose our values on others. Of course by that they meant impose traditional, conservative Christian values on others.  When it came to insisting we embrace the new values espoused by liberalism there was no real bargaining.  Just try to question the assumptions of modern liberalism and see how far you get.

So the LGBT leaders are somewhat baffled that Pope Francis would say what’s obviously happening.  Not that Pope Francis is all about chasing homosexuals through the streets with pitchforks and torches.  Anything but that.  Yet once again we learn that with liberalism there is no 99% conformity.  It’s either all or none.  After all, liberalism isn’t opinions or ideals or beliefs.  It’s Truth.  And even if Pope Francis has turned on its head half of how Christians believe we should address these issues, that’s not enough.  Either Pope Francis convert fully, or he need not bother.
