I think there is one thing that unites all Americans

And it’s that we’re ready for 2016 to be over.  It’s been a crazy, roller coaster year to be sure.  Much tragedy, triumph, and just plain weird.  President Donald Trump?  Two years ago you could have asked me to bet against Bill Gates’ bank account that I’d never say that in my life time.

But in it all, we’ve had to say goodbye to too many great people.  I just saw that Craig Sager passed away from his long battle with leukemia.   That’s one more in a list too long.  David Bowie, Gene Wilder, Muhammad Ali, even the great Alan Rickman, and no doubt many others I’ve never heard of but who meant the world to somebody.  I’m so ready for this year to be done; this year that has taken away too many who seemed to have much more to give.  Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
