Except for such satisfying examples of religiously-tinged misbehavior as routinely come out of the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, and the occasional gratifying progressive-sounding remark by Pope Francis, the American news media don’t pay a lot of attention to religious news. Some — including me (which is why I write two columns for the Deseret News — think that this is a mistake and a distortion. And here’s someone saying the same thing:
