Consider these two items:

Is he as conservative as I am? Probably not.
But he’s conservative. And he was right. On a host of issues. He should have won in 2012; the United States and the world would be better off if he had.
He’s honest, extremely bright, breathtakingly competent — I heard an impressive personal illustration of that just the other day from someone who’s known him since missionary days — with strong executive experience and the proven ability to work across political divides and to get things done.
I’m sorry, but Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee simply cannot win. And Chris Christie shouldn’t win. Moreover, nobody else in the Republican field but Jeb Bush has the stature to take the presidency.
I want a president.
