The situation in Yemen continues to deteriorate, which suggests that the rosy picture of foreign policy success in the Middle East sketched by Mr. Obama in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night may, er, not be completely accurate.

 

The American embassy in Yemen is evacuating staff.  Ambassador Matthew Tueller, an old friend of ours from student days in Cairo and a fellow Latter-day Saint, could probably use some prayers.
