Another of those stories which, if it pointed the other way and if I were to doubt it or in any way fail to take it at face value, would reveal me (at this point, I should think, rather redundantly) to be a cold-hearted, bigoted, and unfeeling cad who’s indifferent, because of his fanaticism, to injustice and human suffering:
