I’m a great fan of Thai food, so perhaps I’ll come to love three-partner marriages, too. Bangkok has long been famous for its sex tourism and its red light districts, and so, naturally, it’s a place where further progress is to be expected along similarly wholesome lines.

And why on earth not?
Once “marriage” has ceased to mean much in particular, it can mean pretty much anything. Which will inevitably result in its meaning nothing at all.
Which is what some, at least, actually hope for. (I’m not making this up.)
